Recent Developments in Laws and Jurisprudence in Land Registration

Ateneo de Manila Law Alumni Association, Inc. (ALAAI) Iloilo Chapter has been organizing well-attended law lectures by resource speakers from the Ateneo Law School community. Last December 5, 2025, it organized the law lecture of Atty. Jon Bello (ALS 1998) on Data Privacy laws at the Casa Real Social Hall, Iloilo Provincial Capitol Compound with 200 attendees from the Iloilo legal community and various stakeholders.

Law lectures organized by the ALAAI Iloilo Chapter are well appreciated and more requests for more lectures in 2026 were received. For this year, ALAAI Iloilo Chapter will be having a lecture on Land Registration Laws by LRA Deputy Administrator Robert Nomar Leyrtana on February 13, 2026 at the Uswag Nutrition Building, General Luna Street, Iloilo City.

While these law lectures are strongly supported by Iloilo Governor Art “Toto” Defensor (ALS 1998) and former Iloilo City Mayor Jerry T. Treñas (ALS 1982) by providing the venues free of charge, we need funds to defray the cost of airfare and hotel accommodation of our resource lecturers. Thus, we have organized a fundraising show “Legally Funny goes to Iloilo” featuring Atty. Edward Chico on February 12, 2026.
